DHS 'working with children' History Check Procedure

Dept. Human Services 'working with children' History Check ProcedureTTSA requires those ‘working with children’ (eg accredited coaches / accredited officials / junior team managers to undertake a Department of Human Services, DHS History Assessment Application. Additionally, effective 1/7/2019 under new legislation, Club Committee Members need to have a DHS clearance (because they manage coaches, Club programs and volunteers working with children). Legislation also requires coaches over 14 years old (previously 18 yrs old) to have a DHS clearance. Coaches and those receiving payment / compensation when working with cildren need to be aware there will be an application fee as part of the processing process. If undertaking work on behalf of their Club / TTSA or TTA, if appropriate, the applicant should approach that body in seeking compensation of the application fee. Applicants should reference the 'Flyer' below to commence the application process through TTSA. The whole process can be managed online for most applicants.
