Scott Houston, TTA CEO, advises that clearly this was not a decision that TTA wanted to make as we know that people want to participate in the event and we wanted the event to proceed wherever possible, however with the ongoing COVID-19 situation around Australia this is the only option available.

When making the decision, TTA gave consideration to the following:

• NSW is still in lockdown, which appears likely to continue until vaccination targets are met.
• Victoria is still in lockdown, which is almost certain to be extended yet again.
• ACT is still in lockdown, albeit their case numbers are relatively low.
• New Zealand is still in lockdown and the Trans-Tasman travel bubble has been suspended.
• Northern Territory Government are currently listing NSW, Victoria and ACT as hot spots and people from these States/Territories are unable to enter Northern Territory for the purposes of playing in the event.

WHEN AND WHERE WILL THE EVENT BE MOVED TO
It is too early to determine what the proposed new dates will be and whether a change of venue will be required. TTA will likely seek participant feedback before making any decisions.

There is a TTA Board Meeting this Thursday 2 September 2021. Further information will be provided to all participants following the meeting.
